Chopin--Etude Op. 25, No. 1

Started learning this piece yesterday. Completed writing in the fingering. Spent 1.5 hours on this piece and played it through probably 10 times or so. Learned the piece. Work on memorization. First page memorized. Practiced 1.5 hours

Liszt--Soneto del Petrarca 123

Started learning this yesterday. Kinda got boring towards middle of third page of so. I should imagine that an overbearing teacher is standing behind me, arms crossed... about to strike me if thought about stopping now. Watch Jorge Bolet (dvd) playing this piece. Work on un poco rallentando e agitato section.
Practiced 20 minutes.

Liszt--Etudes d'Execution Transcendante no. 1 Preludio

Just started learning this piece today. Doesn't look too bad. Wrote down fingering. Practiced 20 minutes.

R. Schumann--Kreisleriana No. 7

Learned first page (almost memorized). The B section is a little tricky. It took me awhile to realize that the right hand actually plays the chromatic scale fragment (for lack of better term here)...and to play it cleanly (dyads), I have to angle my hand at a certain angle, it seems like. Memorizing this section is a bit tricky, as it really trains you to play it by ear (kinda play the tune in your head to know how far the jumps are). Really fun section to play. I'm really starting to appreciate Schumann. Played through the whole piece. This piece is not as technically challenging to play as it is to memorize. Practiced 30-45 minutes.
